Gaming will be mostly darker games, which is worth keeping in mind in the IPS vs. Usage Type: Gaming, 3D drawing (novice level) and everyday use. The machine has a 300hz panel and a RTX 2070 max Q - will I need sync? This is where my knowledge of this sort of thing reaches it’s limit. Prospective Resolution: 1920x1080 OR 2560x1440Īdaptive Sync (GSync, FreeSync, or None): Not sure about this. I will also need to use this machine for some 3D drawing for the wood joiner’s education I’m enrolled with. I have two models in my spyglass but will welcome other suggestions too! I have not had a “dedicated” gaming laptop/desktop before and will be using this laptop for playing some isoRPGs, D2R for the ride down memory lane, and perhaps the odd FPS. I'm looking for some advice in regards to which monitor to pair with my new HP Omen 15-ek0830no. Second choice would be a VG259QM, but am concerned about moving from a TN panel to an IPS panel.Īlso the VG258QM exists but I can't find any real info about it. Currently leaning towards an XL2540 but am concerned about buying such old tech. Suggestions are welcome for a 24" 240hz+ panel. I briefly tried a LG 27GL83A-B and I got rid of it because it was too large for my needs, but the colors on it seemed off and enemies in CSGO blurred more into the background then on my current panel. Apparently my current panel has dreadful colors, but I think watching movies on it mostly look fine, especially compared to a lot of cheap TVs and friends IPS panels. I personally dont care THAT much about good (accurate) color quality but I do care about defined shapes and clarity. I mainly play fps, but also play things like cities skylines and watch netflix.
